Roles and administration
Kibo separates two questions: what you can do on the organization and what you can do inside a project.
Organization roles
| Who | Can |
|---|---|
| Account owner | Everything, everywhere, including every project. Only the owner can transfer ownership. |
| Admin (or a custom role) | Whatever the role grants: managing members, the organization, billing, automated actions, the org chart. |
| Member | Their own work; no organization management. |
An admin does not see projects just because they are an admin: they enter a project only if they have a role on that project. Nobody can change their own role or act on someone with more powers than they have.
Roles are defined in Organization → People → Roles and assigned in Organization → People → Members.
Project roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Manager | Everything on the project's work: decide approvals, share, manage the project's automated actions, publish automated procedures for members. |
| Editor | View, create and edit work, comment. |
| Viewer | View and read. |
| Assignee | Whoever has a task assigned can update it and comment on it, even without any other role. |
Project roles are given from the project's Members section.
The Organization area
The Organization area has few sections; each section is a row of tabs, and each tab is a form with a single Save.
| What | Where | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Name, language, first day of the week, logo and color | General → Details and logo | whoever manages the organization |
| Working hours, holidays and closures | General → Hours and holidays | whoever manages the organization |
| Task statuses | General → Task statuses | whoever manages the organization |
| Transfer ownership, delete the organization | General → Ownership | the account owner |
| Members, invitations, seats, roles, suspensions, daily credit cap | People → Members | whoever manages members |
| Roles and powers | People → Roles | whoever manages members |
| Departments, heads, deputies | People → Org chart | whoever manages the org chart |
| Plan, seats, packs, invoices | Plan → Plan and billing | whoever manages billing |
| Storage used | Plan → Storage | whoever manages billing |
Suspend instead of removing: suspension frees the seat and keeps the account, roles and work. Reactivating the person takes a seat again, with the same check as an invitation.
Statuses: every organization has its own board columns, each in a category (not started, in progress, completed, cancelled). System columns can only be reordered.
